Every Sunday, I will share six sentences from one of my works-in-progress.

I whispered, “Thank you for being my date,” and he laughed low in his chest.

“Anytime, sunshine.”

I kissed him more, then said, “Why do you call me that?”

He looked at me through his lashes. “What, ‘sunshine’? Because you keep me warm.”
